  • 1 teaspoon oats
  • 100 ml of water
  • 2 cup of vegetable oil

  • 1-inch ginger
  • 6 cashews
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp oats powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1-star anise
  • 2 clove

For the main dish:

  • 2 teaspoon onion paste
  • ½ teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp Besan
  • 1 banana
  • ½ garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp oats
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • Salt

Recipe

Step 1:

First, chop the onions. Heat the oven at 175-degree C. Take 1 tbsp of oil in the pan, heat it and add the cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds start to fry, add 1 tbsp of chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and saute well till onion color changes to brown. This process will take only 2-3 minutes.

Step 2:

Lower the gas flame, add Besan and give a stir for one minute. Now, add the oats and keep stirring until the oats get roasted. Turn off the flame. Wait for it to cool down, then add mashed and boiled banana, coriander leaves, salt as needed, red chili powder, a little amount of oil and then mix all of them well.

Step 3:

Now, make round balls of the mixture and keep one Kishmish in the center of each ball. Roll these balls in oats until balls getting covered with oats properly and then place it in the oven for 15 minutes which you already pre-heated. You can put them for even longer until the balls feel crispy. Keep them aside when they turn crisp.

Step 4:

In this step, we will prepare the gravy. Take a pressure cooker and one tbsp of oil in it. Heat it on the medium flame. Now, add the spices, ginger-garlic paste, asafoetida powder and saute them for good 5 seconds. It’s time to add the rest of ingredients like onion, tomatoes, salt as needed, Kashmiri powder, Kasuri methi, cashew, along with half a glass of water. Now cook the mixture until 2 whistles and you are done. Put the cooker aside for it to cool down.

Step 5:

Now, open the cooker, get rid of all spices except peppercorns from the masala prepared. Transfer it to a mixer/blender to make it a puree. Take a pan and heat the butter on the medium-low flame. Cut the ginger in thin pieces and add the oats flour and then cook it for a minute or two.

Step 6:

We are almost done. Add the puree and garam masala, cook it for a couple of minutes. Now serve the gravy on the plate, then place the koftas on it, and finally garnish it with almond or other dry fruits.
