Deepika Padukone Chhapaak is in legal trouble as a film producer has filed a copyright violation complaint against Deepika Padukone, director Meghna Gulzar and, producers of her movie Chhapaak at the Metropolitan Magistrate court.
Rakesh Bharti approached the Magistrate court for criminal action against the proposed accused. Complainant Rakesh claimed that the film Chhapaak was made based on the script penned by him.
In his complaint, Bharti claimed that he along with his son, had planned to produce the film based on a story of an acid attack victim. He further stated that they had even registered the film under the title ‘Black Day’ in May 2015.
Bharti further stated that they had even approached several actors including Kangana Ranaut, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and even approached Fox Star Studios for the production of the film.
Rakesh further stated that for the proposal, he even left a copy of the script of his proposed film with the office of Fox Star Studio, Ka Production, and Mriga Films claiming that these producers had shown interest in making the film.
The complainant stated that he later learnt that the producers were making a separate film on the same subject. Chhapaak is being jointly produced by Fox Star Studio, Deepika’s Ka Production and Mriga Productions.
Chhapaak also features Vikrant Massey and is scheduled to release on January 10.
